Find out more about Tibetan Kitchen
The family business began in 2009 with a humble yak van selling momos at local markets. Over time, we grew into a thriving operation, running two fully equipped catering trailers that travel to music festivals and events around the UK.
In 2012, we seized the opportunity to operate a six-month pop-up café in Manchester, quickly gaining a loyal local following. Inspired by this success, we began the search for a permanent base while continuing our busy festival circuit. By early 2014, we opened a takeaway in South Manchester, perfectly timed to celebrate Tibetan New Year.
Tibet boasts a cuisine as unique and vibrant as its people, language, and culture. While influenced by neighboring India, China, and Nepal, Tibetan food maintains its distinctive character. Our ever-evolving menu showcases traditional Tibetan dishes alongside flavors rooted in the Himalayas. We proudly offer a range of tasty food options, including vegetarian, vegan, meat, and fish dishes.
The heart of our food lies in its unique seasoning. We cater to all palates with a delicate balance of ginger, garlic, and fresh herbs, adding a kick to some dishes with Tibetan pepper (’emma’) and both fresh and dried chilies. Our commitment to quality shines through in our carefully sourced ingredients, which are always free from MSG, artificial preservatives, coloring, and flavoring.
There are several other options for food and drink in the area; here are just a few.
